Date & Time:  November 21, 2019 at 9:00 AM

Target Participants: 
    Team of: One (1) Grade V and Two (2) Grade VI Pupils
    One (1) official coach for every participating school

Venue:  Robinsons Place Iligan, Tubod, Iligan CitY
General Mechanics
• The quiz show is open to all Grades V and VI students from any public or private elementary school in Region X and its neighboring areas.
• Each school Is allowed to send ONLY ONE team for the competition.
• Each team shall compose of three (3) members: one (1) grade 5 and two (2) grade 6 pupils. Official school IDs will be checked to verify the contestants of each team.
• The competition is divided into three (3) rounds: written, oral, and wild card round. Each participant is required to bring a pencil for the written round.
• Questions are taken from different credible sources and will cover fields of Science, Technology, and Mathematics.
• Facilitators of the quiz show are students and selected faculty members of PSHS-CMC.
• Judges are selected faculty members of Science, Technology, and Mathematics Units of PSHS-CMC. The judges' decisions are final and irrevocable.
1. Written Round
• This written examination round will consist of multiple-choice questions that will be individually answered within one (1) hour.
• Participants are required to use #2 pencils for shading. Extra sheets for scratch will be provided.
• Individual scores of the team participants will be added to determine a team's total score.
• Teams will be ranked according to their total scores. The upper half of the ranked participating teams will proceed to the oral round.
2. Wild Card Round
• All teams from the lower half are required to participate in the Wild Card round.
• This round will consist of a single practical test where the members will work as a team.
• Only one (1) winning team will proceed to the oral round.
• The quizmaster will specify the time limit and the subject area of the question before It is read.
• Questions from any round will range from 15 to 40 seconds each.
• All questions will only be read twice by the quizmaster.
• The clock countdown starts after the question is read for the second time and a "Go" signal is given.
• Participants can immediately start solving and writing their answers for any question in any round.
• Tagboards should be raised and presented to the judges when the quizmaster signals to do so after the allotted time.
• Tagboards should only be put down after the quizmaster and the judges have recognized the answers, and the scores have been tallied.
• All contentions from the participants must be addressed to the judges before the next question Is read.
• The final round Is an oral team competition.
• Scores of each team are tallied back to zero.
• Contestants will be provided with all the necessary materials. Using of calculators is not allowed.
• This round is divided into three (3) levels: Easy, Average, and Difficult.
• Point system and time limits will be followed as shown:
3. Oral Round
Easy 10 questions 2 points each
Average 10 questions 3 points each
Difficult 7 questions 5 points each
• In case of a tie, three (3) clincher questions will be added. If the tie Is still not broken, the "sudden death" rule shall apply.
• In the "sudden death" rule, the tied teanfis will be given a series of questions (could be from Science, Technology, and Mathematics). Teams that answer the question correctly will remain. Other teams who get the wrong answer will be eliminated. This process goes on until one
(1) winner Is declared.
• The decisions of the judges are final and Irrevocable.
• Scores from each sub round (Easy, Average, and Difficult) will be summed up to determine the team's final score.
• The team with the highest score will be declared as the Champion.
• Certificates, trophies, medals, and cash prizes will be given to the winners.
